A couple of pastels. One from Door County, Wisconsin (Fish Creek) and the other from
Lake County, Illinois (Millburn). This beautiful old barn has now been torn down.

In an effort to get myself to start organizing all the drawings, paintings, and illustrations I have floating around my studio, I thought I would begin posting some of them here as I locate them on my computer or photograph/scan them. These will include both the old ones (some from way back) and the latest efforts. I'll add some notes about the pieces as I reacquaint myself with the blog. I'll also have to refresh this old brain with respect to properly sizing and adding photos.

This painting was recently accepted into the Air Force Art Program collection and is now on display at the Pritzker Military Library (http://www.pritzkermilitarylibrary.org/Home/2012-Midwest-Air-Force-Artists-Exhibition.aspx) , 104 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago. It's part of the Midwest Air Force Artists Exhibition at the Pritzker between now and July 20, 2012. The painting depicts the crew of the Spirit of Berlin during the delivery of a sculpture created by Veryl Goodnight (http://www.verylgoodnight.com/)  called "The Day the Wall Came Down." The horses wrapped in plastic and duct tape for protection during their flight to Germany are trampling down the Berlin Wall. Only one of the sections of the more than life size piece is shown in the painting. The sculpture was delivered to Templehof Airport on the 50th Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift. It was given to the people of Berlin from the people of the United States and is displayed at the Allied Museum in Berlin.
